4/29/08 Tuesday 2:46 am

It's been a good 24 hours. Will has been working hard and he's getting stronger by the hour. All his numbers are where they belong. His blood pressure is normal, respiration is normal, 02 saturations are between 97-99% and he's trying to sleep without any machine helping him. He just took a test for his kidney function and it came back better than yesterday. So no problems there. The main thing we need to work on is getting his strength back. As you can imagine, being on your back for 9 weeks is going to make you a little weak. Like the doctor said, "knowing Will like we do, we can't predict any time frame." They meant his recovery speed. Will doesn't like to waste too much time. So we will take one day at a time and just thank God for everything he does.

It's been so WONDERFUL hearing his voice again after almost three weeks. It's still a little, tiny croaking voice but it's wonderful anyway. He has spent the afternoon just sipping water, swirling and spitting. He can't swallow until he passes the swallow test probably set for later this afternoon. Will and I will be studying up for that. He already had me put a Pepsi in the fridge up here so it's good and cold when that happens.

Most of the nurses have come by and they have been so excited for Will's "big" step as I know all of you are too. Many of you have been sending emails for him through my email account.
Thank you for all the words of encouragement. If he passes the swallow test, I will blog and let everyone know. That way you all can run to the store and grab a Pepsi and have one with Will.
The weather should be beautiful today. Enjoy the sunshine, can't wait to get Will out in it.
God bless

Wooo Hooo! How exciting to hear that the vent is out! I still can't relate to the Pepsi attraction; I would definitely go for a chocolate milk instead, but whatever tickles your fancy. I think you spent too much time with that Coach friend of yours; he brainwashed you. I remember there were Pepsi machines all over the school. I hope you get to have that cold one today. Enjoy your day! Love Karrie and Jeff

None of us here at this house need to run to the store. We Are All Ready With That Pepsi. None of us here need that Pepsi but we sure like it. Thank God that all of the bricks are layed for Wills new path to a great and spectacular life. It is so exciting to see his strengthhh! WOW.

I'm so excited to hear the vent is out. I have to agree with Karrie on the Pepsi thing - Randy (AKA Coach) was raised in a Coke family so we all have a hard time with Brent and him betraying the family and switching to Pepsi.
Keep up the great work and today is our day to be very thankful for blessing we receive.

Boy does coach have you all fooled. As a neighbor with full view of his windows, I know it is the hard stuff coach prefers. Sorry the cats out.:)

Will, we are so happy the vent is out. Have a wonderful day, we miss you lots and look forward to our next trip to see you. Love you all

Terri! Thank you for the great update. I miss you all so much.
Please give Tom a big hug for me. And then tell him to give you one back. :)
I send love and prayers to each of you.
Love,

Hello, Harbisons...
Congratulations for getting the vent out! I don't know Will, but I've heard he's a fighter and I'd say this moment is proof of that and God's love for all of you.
Stay strong.
Toni
