March 29 4:30 am Saturday

Good morning everyone. This is our official 100th blog post and Will is going strong as ever. We have had a pretty good resting day with some improvements. We started the day with a trial run with breathing with little help. They were checking to see if he was ready to go off the vent. Will was not as successful as he wanted to be, therefore, was a little (a lot) frustrated. He just seems more tired. So they decided not to even try to take the vent out yet. It takes a lot of work to breathe on your own after so long on the vent. But after 5 weeks in bed, he really wants to get going. As we all know Will, he fought hard all day and brought his numbers up. He's looking better and he's gotten more rest tonight. So we will see today if it's possible. For some reason, Will takes it personally if he doesn't pass. Thank goodness he's still on the good amnesia medicine. They had to put that back on when he started to have more pain. His kidneys are working a little better also.

Our good friend and now relative, Kim White, came up and surprised us. She has stayed all the time in the hospital with Will. She's our comic relief. Also, Will thinks she gives the best neck rub of all time. He was telling her how much his chest was hurting and she asked if there was anything she could do and he said "Nothing, well, maybe a neck rub." That's so funny, one doesn't have anything to do with the other. He might be milking it a little. He wasn't awake long enough to watch any of the games last night so he will have to catch up on sport center or something like that.

We feel really blessed that Will is trying so hard and I know a lot of the fight is coming from inside of him but it's also coming from your prayers and encouraging comments. Thank you (I know I say that a lot, but I don't know what else to say.)

PS Breathinsteven --I want to tell you that many people have got a hold of me and said how much they liked the words you wrote. You're very inspirational and so is your blog. Thanks for sharing so much of yourself. I can't wait to share with Will, but for now he wouldn't remember much so I will wait.

Everybody have a great, fun-filled Saturday. Play games and laugh a lot. Good days are ahead.
God bless

Good Morning,
We are off to Jesalyn's t-ball game. She is having her first sports picture today, I know Will you think it should be basketball but FL a little behind at least in our area. I think I'm going to have to get some b-ball workshops set up down here for the little tykes.
Have a wonderful day! Prayers coming your way that the vent can come out and stay out!!!!

I am praying hard that the vent comes out today Will. But God has a plan for you, and even if it doesn't come out today it will in God's due time! We also missed the games last night, but have no fear I am sure we will have to (excuse me, get to) watch it on Sportscenter over, and over, and OVER again! Have a great day, and I look forward to the email you mentioned. What a good cliffhanger to end the post on...

Hi everyone,

I just figured out how to leave comments on blogs. I just wanted to tell you we think of you so often. Jack and the girls are constantly asking about all of you. Shannon is fishing this weekend. He said he had to go off and catch some fish to provide for his family. What a crock. They called last night and Jim had drank enough that he was pretending to be a girl. Thought I would be jealous. I heard him and thought that they had captured a sick duck and brought it back to the hotel with them. They should be home tomorrow full of stories, I'm sure. So far no fish though. I guess the kids and I will starve. I hope you no how much we love all of you. I wish that we could be there to be more supportive. We do pray for you and send thoughts of love your way often.
Much love,
Amanda

Hey Mom!!!

(Hope you don't mind me calling you "Mom"... I have a wonderful CF Mom myself -- and so many of you are so much alike -- and we all share such similar journeys in life... I know you ain't mine, but there have been so many other CF Moms I've known who treat all of us kids with CF like they were their own...)

Thanks so much for letting me know that others have appreciated the words I've written... That means a great deal to me... Glossing through the entries and stories on your blog -- and the comments from friends and family -- I have a feeling Will and I have a lot in common... We're both surrounded by incredibly special people... It's nice to think my words can inspire if only to pay back the many, many people who have inspired me, and kept me fighting...

And thanks for taking a peek at our blog -- Revive Hope was started by a kidney recipient -- the other contributor, besides me, has a passion for organ donation because her very close friend became a donor at a very young age -- and I have her very close friend's lungs...

You take care... Will is in my thoughts and prayers... So are you too... CF Moms ROCK!

Love,

Steve
