What a wonderful celebration of life the Harbison family presented for Will. We talked down memory road and gazed once again into the life of a gentle giant who never gave up when it would have been so easy to do.
Thank you Jeff, Jason, and Angel for doing what most of us couldn't. You touched us deeply and said all that needed said.
Terri & Tom -- Thank you for being such wonderful role models. Will was who he was because of parents like you. I helped raise a lot of kids, Will and Angel included, but I could never hold a candle to two people who loved like no two parents could love--to each other, your children, your family, and your friends.
I relish the day that we are sharing stories of Kayli's "imaginary" friend. We may have lost the innocence of a child to truly "see." But that little girl will talk and talk to him, talk long walks with him, and be so blessed to have Uncle Will there every step of the way.
A song that I played at my grandmother's funeral many years ago says it best. "Just think of me and I'll be there!" Anyone at that service knows he lives on.
Terri,Tom Angel and Aaron, Thank you so much for the wonderful celebration of life for Will. Will was an amazing guy who showed us all what amazing strength a person can have. He had enough strength for the whole world. Thank you for sharing him with us all. Kayli was so lucky to have met her Uncle Will, I know she will have one heck of a guardian Angel watching over her and protecting her every step of the way. I love you all and if you need anything let me know.
We started this blog for everyone who cares for Will. We wanted to share his life in Salt Lake City while he awaits a transplant and after he gets the transplant. We know that his life a a CFer has been tough so we pray that the new lungs will work great so Will can get back to coaching. Prayers work miracles.
UPDATE:
Will received his two new lungs on Feb. 23, 2008. We pray for the the donor's family every night for the gift of life. There were complications during the surgery that has changed Will's life. It hasn't made it worse, it has only made it different. We continue to see the miracle of God's love in everything Will can do.
THE FINAL CHAPTER TO THE JOURNEY OF WILL HARBISON:
HE WENT TO BE WITH THE LORD ON NOV. 4, 2009 SURROUNDED BY MANY, MANY LOVED ONES. HE IS DONE WITH HIS STRUGGLES BUT HE WILL BE MISSED, SO MUCH. GOD HAS BEEN GOOD TO GIVE HIM TO US FOR AS LONG AS HE DID. THANK YOU AND AMEN.
