Friday already. Things have been so busy. Don't you just love Fridays???
Will's day was better than yesterday. He walked twice about 92 steps and he stayed off the vent for 12 1/2 hours. Those are both great feats when you consider how sick he's been. He wants out of there pretty bad. Today is dialysis day so I'm glad he did all that yesterday. Even though he's been sick, he still hasn't lost a lot of ground.
He got his PICC line (tunnel catheter for IV's) in this afternoon. First they weren't going to put one in and they they decided that he needed one. I'm glad he got one. It makes drawing blood so much easier on Will. The nurses are glad too. They hate hurting Will. We are so lucky to have all the caring people around Will. Thank God.
Will's stomach is still giving him trouble but the doctors found some drug that might help. They were going to start giving it to him soon. The other one that they had found wasn't good for the kidneys so they couldn't give that to him.
He had a really bad night last night. I was so glad that Grandma Cherie decided to spend the night with him. Will said that she gave him lots of head rubs to try to help him sleep. I don't know how I'm going to top that when I get down there. Tonight is gong to be so much better. I leave right after school so if you're on the road from Bliss to Salt Lake City after three today---watch out.
By the way, whoever brought Dr. Cahill back to us, thank you. She popped in this afternoon for a couple of minutes. That woman is so busy. She's the one that thought of that one stomach medicine. Even when she's not here, she's thinking of Will. See why we love her so much.
